| marrakech:The exhibition in Marrakech released typography from the written page, inserting it into the fabric of everyday life. It highlighted poetic connections between the past and the present, paying particular attention to the rich heritage of Moroccan writing in the shape of its three scripts, Arabic, Tifinagh and Latin. These writing systems yielded the key visual themes for the project as a whole, providing the ‘raw material’ for newly-commissioned works by five artists. |
